DONALD "DAVID" AINSLEY

Plein-Air Painter Donald "David Ainsley was born in New York City . He was highly motivated in becoming an artist and fulfilled this goal by graduating from the High School of Industrial Art . At the same time, he studied Studio Life Drawing with noted New York Artist, Fogarty, at the Art Students League in New York . following this, David sought further training at Parsons School Of Design, New York , graduating in 1961. At Parsons, David studied with noted American Artists' Joseph Albers and Sewell Stillman, Color Theorists of Yale University . Upon graduation, Ainsley worked as a Graphic Designer at an Ad Agency and a Union Publication in New York City . In 1969, David"s design talents were highly sought-after. He accepted employment in Southern California as a Furniture Designer in association with Thomasville , Baker and Henredon corporations until his retirement, twenty-five years later. As an Artist, David continues to fulfill his need to create works of Art. He expresses himself as a professional full-time Plein-Air Painter. His works of Art have been displayed in numerous invitational art exhibitions and art festivals including a solo show & lecture at the Rancho Santa Fe Gallery, Rancho Santa Fe, California; deBenedictus Gallery (solo show), Laguna Niguel, California; Newport Nautical Museum, Newport Beach, California; Soldier's Barracks Gallery, San Juan Capistrano Mission, California; Society of Master Impressionists, Invitational Art Show, Sunset Center Art Gallery, Amarillo, Texas ; Cosmopolitan Gallery, La Jolla , California ; and Ventura County Maritime Museum (2nd Prize Award), Oxnard , California . Several of Ainsley's artworks recently appeared in the book, International Contemporary Masters, Vol. III, World Wide Books, 2010.
