Catherine Macdonald
My oil on paper images are influenced by my observations and recorded experiences from life. A love of color, its tints and shades in nature gives me a sense of wonder and joy. Forms enter the work, intersecting, pushing, pulling and bending space. Twisted images, fracturing and emerging elements record isolated moments in time.

Ghostly figures loom, retreat
Into a dusky marlstrom.
Tornado violence scatters life,
Leaves reality shredded, torn.
Ghostly figures try to hide
And can in that confusion.
Blood bits dance with fleshy marrow,
But, that could be my own illusion.
